Year Published:

Abstract:
The study examined the impact of foreign investment on employment generation in Nigeria. The study made use of secondary data, after carrying out a unit root test on all the variables and the result showed that foreign investment, employment rate and poverty rate are integrated of order one, hence the study employed the use of Vector Autoregressive Scheme as an appropriate methodology. The result of the study showed that employment rate and Gross Domestic Product per capita exhibited a greater impact on Gini. Also foreign investment has a greater impact on the level of poverty reduction and finally foreign direct investment also has positive relationship on employment rate in the country. The conclusion of the study is that the major reason for the low impact of foreign investment on employment generation is that foreign investment inflow into the country has been towards certain sectors (oil and gas, communication, construction, etc.) at the expense of those sectors (agriculture, tourism and manufacturing) that has the greatest potential for reducing unemployment and for poverty reduction in the country, hence FI is good and should be encourage to those neglected sectors in other to improve employment generation.

Abstract:
This study examined and compared the differences in entrepreneurial intention between entrepreneurship students and non-entrepreneurship students. It also investigated the relationship between entrepreneurship learning and entrepreneurial intention of undergraduate students in the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Nigeria. A total of 104 students were selected, of which 51.9% were Entrepreneurship and 48.1% were non-Entrepreneurship students of the University. Descriptive statistics, t-test, and correlation analysis were used to analyse the data. The results showed a positive relationship between entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial intentions. It shows a positive correlation coefficient of 0.321 and it is significant at 1%. Meaning a 1% increase in entrepreneurship education will increase students’ entrepreneurial intention by 32%. The study further established that entrepreneurship students and non-entrepreneurship students have the same attitude towards becoming entrepreneurs. There were no significant differences between social norms and entrepreneurial intention among the group of students. Concerning perceived behavioural control, the result show that the mean difference (0.52) between the entrepreneurship students and non-entrepreneurship students is significant (p = 0.01). That is, the perceived behavioural control of the entrepreneurship students was higher than that of nonentrepreneurship Students. The findings of this study are of importance to the government, higher institutions, policy makers, individuals as well as academia in Nigeria. Government, especially in Nigeria should intensify effort in implementing her entrepreneurship education policy in the country as such would engender socio-economic development of the entire country. The findings of this study will also help educational institutions in their curriculum design, delivery approaches and evaluation strategies in their efforts to promote entrepreneurship.

Abstract:
Effective management of risk and uncertainty in a business enterprise has been identified as one of the challenges faced by an entrepreneur for business development and sustainability. An Entrepreneur who is being regarded as a risk manager has to carry out proper risk analysis that will ensure the success of his or her business through proper identification, assessment, evaluation of risks and uncertainties. Many business enterprises in emerging economies such as Nigeria are prone to higher risks and uncertainties such as environmental risk, financial risk, market risk, production risk and supply risk which have relatively slow down entrepreneurship development. The minimisation of risk through a decrease in financial stake in an enterprise by many business angels in order to lower the rate of risk and uncertainty in an unstable business environment had reduced entrepreneurship development in a developing economy. This paper seeks to identify and analyse some of the risks associated with entrepreneurship development and sustainability in the emerging economy. Data were collected from both primary and secondary sources for the study by employing a descriptive approach and developing a conceptual framework in analysing risk and uncertainty in entrepreneurship development. Hypotheses were developed to test the effect of risk and uncertainty on the development of entrepreneurship with data collection from 105 business enterprises in pharmaceutical industry from States in South West Nigeria and Ordinary Least Square (OLS) Regression method was adopted to estimate the relationship between the variables. Results from the study revealed a positive relationship between the independent (risk) and dependent (Entrepreneurship development) variables. Policy recommendations were made especially on some strategies that can be adopted against risk, such as efficient insurance policy and adequate support of the government and other financial and non-financial institutions to minimise risks encountered by entrepreneur.

Abstract:
Entrepreneurship education communicates and inculcates the skills needed to recognize business opportunity . The F ederal Government of Nigeria mandated all tertiary institutions to teach entrepreneurship course to all the students regardless of their discipline or department. Its aim is to help young people develop skills and attributes that allow them to be innovative and to identify , initiate and successfully manage personal and work opportunities . Therefore, this paper assesses the level of compliance of Nigerian Higher Institutions with entrepreneurial policy stipulated by the Federal Government of Nigeria, with a case study of selected higher institutions in South-W est part of the country . The methodology used for this paper was descriptive analysis. The study found that the level of compliance with entrepreneurial policy is 77% which is full compliance, as most of the higher institutions selected for this study have complied with Federal Government directive to teach at least four units entrepreneurship course to all their students . It was also observed from our study that, few Universities in Nigeria have academic entrepreneurship departments , and most entrepreneurship courses are still taught by the lecture method as case studies are rarely used. Case studies provide role models for students considering an entrepreneurial career path. The challenges face by higher institutions in their effort to comply with this policy , strategies for the successful running of the policy and a set of recommendations for universities and policy makers were also addressed in this paper. Nigeria's competitiveness, innovation and economic growth depends on being able to produce future leaders with the necessary skills and attitudes to be entrepreneurial in their respective professions, either by creating their own companies or renovating the existing ones.

Abstract:
This research presents an empirical analysis of the impact of foreign aid on Economic growth of five Sub-Saharan African Countries namely Ghana, Mauritania, Kenya, Uganda, and Zambia using cointegration analysis. The result shows that the variables are cointegrated, and therefore there exists a long run relationship between the variables. However, the long run effect of aid on growth was found to be negative for most of these countries, but investment has a positive long run effect on growth for all the countries except Ghana. This may be that aid work via investment consequently has positive impact on economic growth.
